When your baby is born you look in wonder at their tiny bodies. The way their hands reach out and grab your little finger, and the tiny toes at the end of their feet, all in perfect miniature. What better way to capture the memory of their little bodies than to have your baby's hand and foot cast in three dimensional detail to keep forever?

The Aldershot & Farnborough Twins and Triplets Club was founded to give support to parents of young multiples - twins and more - in the Farnborough and Aldershot area. Anyone who has been there knows how difficult it can be adjusting to life with one new baby, let alone two or more at the same time, and the support group that helps you through the early months remains just as important as the children grow towards school age.
At a twins' club you will find parents of children at all ages, and in all situations who will be able to offer friendship, support, a sympathetic ear, experience and advice. Whether you are expecting twins or triplets, or already have them and are encountering one of the many challenging stages of development and need some advice on how to handle them, we probably have somebody who will know how you feel.
Always bear in mind, though, that the advice given is not medically proven: although offered with the best of intentions, you and your GP/Health visitor will know more about your own personal situation.
We have a Playgroup at Aldershot every second Monday, and organise trips out on a regular basis, from simple local picnics to days out at major attractions. We also have links with the Twins And Multiple Births Association (TAMBA), and with other local clubs.
New members are always welcome, as are the ideas that new people bring. If you are in the Farnborough or Aldershot areas, and you are interested in joining our Twins Club, please let us know.
"I was stopped the other day in the supermarket (again!) by a much older lady who asked, 'Are they twins?' 'Yes,' I replied wearily as it was about the tenth time I had been stopped that day. Then the lady said, 'I remember when my twin boys were this age, they were an absolute delight but hard work too. They are 47 now!'
"It was funny because my attitude towards her immediately changed when I knew she had twins as well. She was not just another well meaning old lady with a passing comment. I knew that when she said they were both hard work and a delight, she genuinely understood and appreciated what that meant. There is something about having a multiple birth that gives you an instant connection with someone who has shared the same experience, even a complete stranger in a supermarket.
"That is what is great about our club: it is really great to have that connection with a group of people who have not only shared your experience but can offer an alternative perspective, help or advice."
Everything we do at the Aldershot and Farnborough Twins Club is done with that maxim in mind: a connection based on shared experience. We know it can be tough, lonely, or even uncertain, but if asked we can offer help, company, or advice, at the same time as offering trips for the children, the mothers or the whole family.
If you have twins, triplets or more, live in the vicinity of the Aldershot/Farnborough area, and are interested in joining our club, click here to explore the benefits we can offer, fill in an application form, and find out who to contact for an introduction to the fortnightly Playgroup.
